Cooperative Team Point of Emphasis

The District Athletic Committees met in regular session most recently on February 12.   One of the major items on that agenda was a review of the process and standards for considering cooperative team requests.

The discussion concluded and confirmed that cooperative teams will not be considered for approval unless the proposal is necessary to create or to sustain a varsity team.

The Committee has also requested that the process be modified to take advantage of existing technology.  Staff is currently working toward creating an interactive form and process that should be beneficial to all involved in a request.

The DAC members present also voted to review annually participation numbers provided through the survey conducted each spring by the Association.  This review will guide District Committees regarding the second year of the the approved cooperative team.
