2025 MIAA Division 3 Golf Championship: Seekonk's Aidan Connell, Old Rochester Surge To Top
Old Rochester Regional High School placed a pair of golfers in the top five overall and that was enough to give the Bulldogs the 2025 MIAA Division 3 Fall Golf Championship at Blissful Meadows in Uxbridge.
Aidan Connell of Seekonk High School shot a 2-over-par 74 on the par-72 Blissful Meadows course to earn medalist honors, the first for the program since Bob Marshalewski in 2006. Connell finished 2 shots ahead of runner-up Colin Haynes of Hopedale Jr./Sr. High School.
But the three-way tie for third was key as Luke Pierre and South medalist Jack Czerkowski each shot 5-over 77 for Old Rochester, tying them with Gray West of Manchester Essex Regional High School. More importantly, the efforts of Czerkowski and Pierre were half of the Bulldogs’ team total of 35-over-par 323, giving them an 8-shot margin over defending state champion Ayer Shirley Regional High School (331). Old Rochester last won a state title in 2022 in Division 2.
Reid Ohanesian, the 2024 medalist, tied for sixth (6-over 78) with Tommy McKiernan of Greater Lowell Technical High School. In a three-way tie for eighth (7-over 79) were Drew Broderick of Tewksbury Memorial High School, Drew Richards of Saint John Paul II, and Noah Petrossi of the Bromfield School.
For Old Rochester, Brady Mills was 16th (11-over 83) and John Bongiorno tied for 30th (14-over 86).
St. John Paul II finished third as a team (334), followed by Manchester Essex (341) and Hopedale (344).
