You are: Officials

In order to become an official, you should contact an officials’ board’s secretary or president in both the sport you are interested as well as the section of the state you wish to work. Each official’s board will have a process to enroll and train new officials.

Why Become an Official

  • Officials can be enrolled with multiple boards, if desired
  • Membership qualifies you to officiate MIAA Tournament events
  • Provides an opportunity to serve as an “Officials Representative” on MIAA Sport Committees

Nominate an Official for MIAA Game Official of the Year

This award seeks to recognize and honor officials who have displayed character, integrity and dignity, while displaying the highest standards of ethical conduct. Award candidates should have a record of exceptional performance, as well as a reputation, among their peers and the athletic community, for fair play, for good sportsmanship, and for the development of these attributes in our student-athletes.
