caution

The MIAA / MSAA Office will be closed the week of July 29 through August 2 for our annual shutdown. The office will reopen at 8 am on Monday, August 5.

Leadership

Empowering Student Leaders

Providing leadership training and ongoing support to help students be positive influences for others is imperative and the MIAA has embraced this challenge. Young people often find themselves in leadership positions because of how they are viewed by others. Leaders are often selected because of their seniority, skills and/or their popularity. Great expectations come with being selected as a leader but, in most situations, these expectations are not directly communicated and cannot be presumed.

Student Advisory Committee

Ensures that student-athletes are represented and actively participate in developing strategies to address the current issues student-athletes face.

Student Ambassador Program

Each school elects Ambassadors to engage in workshops centered on leadership and community service, simultaneously serving as representatives of the MIAA within their respective schools.

Girls and Women in Sports

We gather each year to celebrate the many opportunities girls and women have to compete in sports throughout the Commonwealth and the Nation.
