
Alpine Ski Championships: Mohawk Trail, St. John's Prep Add to Championship History
The 2025 MIAA Alpine Ski Championships were held Tuesday, February 25 at Berkshire East in Charlemont. Individual and team champions were crowned for boys and girls following races on both the slalom and giant Slalom courses.
Girls
Eliza Mullen of Pittsfield High School swept both individual events, while Mohawk Trail Regional School resumed its team dynasty on the slopes.
Mullen won the slalom with a time of 46.54 seconds, and added her victory in the giant slalom in 50.34 seconds.
Meanwhile, Addie Loomis was second in the giant slalom (50.86) and third in the slalom (49.17) to spark Mohawk Trail to a combined team time of 5:18.69. It was the fourth overall state championship and third title in four years for the Warriors, who won in 2022 and 2023 before Masconomet Regional took the reins in 2024.
Newton South High School was second as a team (5:21.97) and Medway High School third (5:29.93).
Nashoba Regional’s Jillian Bradford took second in the slalom (47.14) and fourth in the giant slalom (52.56), while Charlotte Richmond of Norton High School was fourth in the slalom (50.04) and fifth in the giant slalom (52.90).
Courtney Hoguet of Marblehead High School rounded out the top five in the slalom (50.14) and also was ninth in the giant slalom (53.74). Ashland High School’s Jillian Magill took third in the giant slalom (51.59( and eighth in the slalom (51.11).
Boys
Sam Charrette was the individual winner in the giant slalom and helped keep Saint John’s Preparatory School’s legacy alive as the Eagles once again captured the team championship.
Charrette navigated the course in a time of 53.76 seconds and also placed fifth in the slalom (44.83).
St. John’s Prep compiled a winning time of 5 minutes, 1.12 seconds to take home the championship hardware for the fourth year in a row and eighth time overall. Concord-Carlisle High School placed second (5:08.31), led by Theo Remington’s victory in the slalom (43.87).
Owen McLain was fourth in the giant slalom (54.58) and sixth in the slalom (45.07) for St. John’s Prep. Josh Haarmann added a seventh-place finish in the slalom (44.55).
Remington also placed sixth in the giant slalom (54.76) for Concord-Carlisle, and Tucker Kutinec was fifth in the giant slalom (54.61).
Robert Blanchard of Cohasset High School was the only other top-five finisher in both events, taking second in the giant slalom (53.94) and fourth in the slalom (44.78).
Oliver Kirby of Lenox Memorial was second in the slalom (44.24), followed by Kitson Stover of Monument Mountain Regional in third (44.26).
Lukas Schemmel of Winchester High School was third in the giant slalom (54.51).
