Division 1-2 Girls Swimming Championships: Concord-Carlisle, Weston Back On Top of Podium

The Boston University Fitness and Recreation Center was the site of the 2025 MIAA Division 1-2 Girls Swimming Championships on Saturday, February 15.

Division 1

Concord-Carlisle High School repeated its state championship from 2024, winning a pair of individual events and compiling 270 team points to finish well ahead of runner-up and Dual County League rival Lincoln-Sudbury Regional (220).

Senior Maisey O’Donnell scored a big win in the 1-meter diving (457.600 points) for the Patriots, who got their other individual victory from junior Sarah Fortier in the 100-yard breaststroke (1 minute, 8.87 seconds).
Concord-Carlisle also got seconds from sophomore Elisabeth Reiling in the 50 freestyle and junior Bea Turrettini in the 500 freestyle, as well as a second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:40.03). The Patriots also were third in the 200 free relay (1:42.31).

Senior Joslin Halsey was key in Lincoln-Sudbury’s push for the top spot, winning both the 200 freestyle (1:51.54) and 100 butterfly (55.53) while also joining the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays for the Warriors.

Sharon High School junior Feining Huang won the 200 individual medley (2:07.7) and was second in the 100 butterfly (56.07). New Bedford High School sophomore Serenity Coleman and Attleboro High School senior Zuri Ferguson each notched a first and third – Coleman in the 50 free (1st, 24.32) and 100 fly (3rd, 56.43), and Ferguson in the 100 backstroke (1st, 54.62) and 200 free (3rd, 1:53.68).

Franklin High School was third as a team (181.5), followed by Minnechaug Regional (161) and Attleboro (131).

Division 2

Weston High School followed up its 2024 championship with a repeat in 2025. The Wildcats didn’t win a single event, but used their depth throughout the lineup to finish with 230 points and the program’s third title overall (2015).

Junior Kate Krueger was the top individual finisher, placing second in the 200 individual medley (2:11.28) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:14.34). The Wildcats also took second in the 200 freestyle relay with junior Sadie Nelson, Krueger, senior Amy Robson and junior Margaret Liu (1:41.16), and third in the 400 freestyle relay with Krueger, Robson, freshman Madeline Young and Liu (3:47.05).

There were individual highlights throughout the rest of the meet, with three swimmers taking home a pair of victories each.

Longmeadow High School junior Lilah Doherty started off by winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.89) and later added first in the 100 butterfly (55.98). Senior Amalia Guerra of Northampton High School captured both the 200 IM (2:09.96) and 100 backstroke (56.95), and Seekonk High School sophomore Lydia Craft swept the 100 freestyle (52.26) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.77).

Mystic Valley Charter School was second as a team (194), sparked by a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:52.52) with senior Sydney Cao, juniors Britney Nayiga and Isabelle Pennachio, and senior Lana Santos Albuquerque. The Eagles also took third place in the 200 freestyle relay. Longmeadow placed third as a team (180) – winning both the 200 freestyle relay (sophomore Izabella Strebel, senior Julianna Quinlan, sophomore Emillia Szyluk, senior Maria Dipietro in 1:39.16) and 400 freestyle relay (Doherty, Strebel, Quinlan, Szyluk in 3:40.72).

Dover-Sherborn High School was fourth (152) and Triton Regional fifth (146).
