
Girls Wrestling Divisional Championships: Framingham, Putnam Vo-Tech, South Shore Vocational Stand Atop Podium
The 2025 MIAA Girls Wrestling Divisional Championships were held Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22. Division 1 was contested Saturday at North Andover High School, Division 2 both days at Salem High School, and Division 3 on Saturday at Foxborough High School.
Division 1
Framingham High School, sparked by individual championships from Adriana DeGroat at 120 and Leah Condriet at 132, needed every bit of its team effort to hold off Lowell High School for the divisional championship. The Flyers finished with 73 points, nipping Lowell (72) and third-place Springfield Central High School (63).
In the finals, DeGroat defeated Maria Baldwin of Winchester High School (F, 1:35) and Condriet edged Solimary Cruz-Sedan of Springfield Central (F, 3:33).
Lowell also had a pair of individual champions with Amada Moundele at 165 (F, 1:26 over Samantha Wenstrom of King Philip Regional) and Amelylah Martinez at Amelyiah Martinez at 235 (F, 1:12 over Eglis Tuareza Clase of Springfield Central).
Methuen High School also had a pair of individual champions, with Asher Polaco at 138 (TF, 5:13 over Jaymie Last of Framingham) and Janessa Santiago at 145 (F, 2:26 over Mayanah Cabrera of Springfield Central).

- Anna Felicio, Saugus, 107 (TF, 2:44 over Alexia Henriquez, North Andover High School)
- Ava Svistunov, Belmont HIgh School, 114 (F, 1:44 over Saphira Sao, Lowell)
- Kamila Vizcinesk, Arlington High School, 126 (7-0 decision over Madeline Ngo, Newton North High School)
- Ksenia Gorman, King Philip, 152 (F, 2:58 over Olivia Bernier, Westford Academy)
- Kaleigh Fuller, Montachusett Tech, 185 (F, 4:32 over Hillary MacDonald, Lawrence High School)
Division 2
Putnam Vo-Tech turned in a dominant performance with two individual champions, plus three finishers apiece in third place and fourth place, compiling 119 points.
After Melanie Miles won at 132 pounds for the Beavers (F, 0:38 over Autumn Lamothe of Whittier Tech), Leanna Watson capped the victory with a pair of round-robin wins at 235.
The tight battle was for second place as a team, where Billerica Memorial (69) finished just ahead of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional (68). The Indians had no individual winners, but were paced by runner-up finishes from Mia Annello at 114 and Sofia Vraka at 152.
Kennedie Davis won her final match against Annello (5-2 decision), one of two individual golds for B-R. Olivia Polansky started the finals with her forfeit win at 100.

- Shelby Galex, Northeast Metro/Bishop Fenwick, 152 (F, 4:53 over Vraka)
- Stella Christopher, Agawam, 165 (F, 1:49 over Jordyn Reynolds, Greater Lawrence Technical)
- Marisol Almanzar, Greater Lawrence, 185 (5-1 decision over Essence Tucker, Quincy Upper School)
Division 3
South Shore Technical was the only school with multiple winners, and that made a big difference for the Vikings on their way to the team title.
Karalene Mitchell was the champion at 165 (F, 5:37 over Sabrine Dafonseca of Wakefield Memorial), and Gianna Cycan ended the event with her round-robin wins at 235.
Ludlow High School was the team runner-up with 54 points. The Lions were one of nine other schools with an individual weight class winner as Samantha Bertini prevailed at 107 (F, 0:31 over Tori Tully of Carver Middle High School).
