
Sectional Gymnastics: Central Catholic, Mansfield Take Home Top Honors
The MIAA Girls Gymnastics 2025 Sectional Championships were held Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22 at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough.

Zinnia Hopkinson won a pair of individual events on her way to first in the all-around, including leading Central Catholic High School’s first-place finish in the balance beam, as the Raiders took home the sectional title.
Hopkinson scored a 9.800 on the beam, and also won the uneven bars with a score of 9.550 to spark the Raiders, who finished with a team score of 147.575. That was enough to edge runner-up Masconomet Regional (146.925) and the Danvers/Lynnfield coop in third place (146.525).
Hopkinson’s all-around score of 38.600 topped runner-up Kaylee Wescott of Danvers/Lynnfield (382.75), who took first in the floor exercise (9.875). Central Catholic’s Kallie McCarthy was third in the all-around (37.800), including a win in the vault (9.800).
Central Catholic scored a 38.075 on the beam, and placed in the top three in each of the other three events – seconds in the vault (37.000) and floor exercise (37.700), and third in the uneven bars (34.800).
The other top all-around finishers were: Sarah Aldrich of Masconomet Regional (4th, 37.450), Hanne Ridley of Acton-Boxborough/Bromfield (5th, 37.250), Camryn Donovan of Danvers/Lynnfield (6th, 37.200), Lexie Masters of Wilmington/Bedford (T-7th, 37.100), Kaitlyn McHale of NA/G (T-7th, 37.100), Kate Mugge of Masconomet (9th, 36.675), and Alexandra Lee of Andover/North Reading (10th, 36.275).

South
Mansfield High School didn’t take first in any individual event, but the Hornets were top three in all four and scored 146.050, just edging out Newton North High School (145.950). Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater took third place as a team (144.150).
Juliah Donahue-Wilfred of Brockton/Cardinal Spellman/Stoughton took a similar approach in winning the all-around. Her score of 37.050 was sparked by a tie for second place on the floor (9.600) and a tie for seventh on the beam (9.3050).
The victorious Hornets were second on both the vault (37.025) and beam (36.675), and third in the uneven bars (35.400) and floor exercise (36.950). Sophie Moore was the top all-around finisher in 14th place (35.250), with Bridget Boni in 17th (34.525).
Lindsay Woodbury of Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater took second in the all-around (36.900), followed by Rylan Savas of Norton High School (T-3rd, 36.800), the Newton North tandem of Sofia Dukakis (T-3rd, 36.800) and Molly Haughton (5th, 36.650), and Emma Marden of Medway/Ashland/Dover-Sherborn (6th, 36.550).
Caroline DiMarco of Attleboro High School placed seventh (36.450) and was the only top-10 finisher to win an individual event, scoring first on the uneven bars (9.350). Other event winners were Ella DeFeo of Norton on the vault (9.800), Anjali Burdagunta of Westborough High School on the beam (9.650), and Greta Wolfgang of Medway/Holliston/Milford/Millis on the floor (9.625).
