Statewide Boys, Girls Ice Hockey Tournament Brackets Released

The MIAA has released brackets and final power rankings for the 2025 statewide Boys and Girls Ice Hockey tournaments, which can begin as early as Sunday, February 23.

A total of 136 Boys Ice Hockey and 65 Girls Ice Hockey teams will take part in this year’s postseason, the fourth to be played under the MIAA’s statewide tournament format. In each of the four boys and two girls divisions, the top 32 eligible power ranked teams automatically qualify, and any eligible teams power seeded 33 or below and with at least a .500 winning percentage also are included.

The breakdown of divisions is as follows:

  • DIVISION 1 BOYS: 33 teams    DIVISION 2 BOYS: 33 teams
  • DIVISION 3 BOYS: 35 teams    DIVISION 4 BOYS: 35 teams
  • DIVISION 1 GIRLS: 33 teams    DIVISION 2 GIRLS: 32 teams

The 2025 MIAA Ice Hockey State Championship is sponsored by Chick-fil-A.

Brackets will be updated with date, time and site information as it is finalized.

State championship games are tentatively scheduled for Sunday, March 16.

All games will be at the home site of the higher seed through the Round of 16. If the home team site is not acceptable the following will apply:

  • Home school AD finds an acceptable site
  • Lower seed will host the match
  • If both sites are not acceptable, Tournament Administrator will place game at an acceptable site within MIAA site policy
  • The MIAA will provide neutral sites for State Semifinals and State Finals, as defined by TMC Site Policy.
