Medfield High School Student Receives MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month Award September 2023

Nick Gangemi – Medfield High School
Nominated by Eric Ormberg, Football Coach

Nick was nominated by his Varsity Football Coach, Eric Ormberg, who described Nick as “everything you want in a leader and student-athlete.” Coach Ormberg continued, “He took a chance playing football during the Covid Spring Season and in two years was elected captain.”

Nick has also been a captain in basketball and a league all-star in football. Recently, a new student moved into Medfield and was enrolling in the main office, Nick went out of his way to welcome the student and make him feel a part of Warrior Nation. It is through his natural ability to lead, that the respect from his peers and staff have come throughout his high school career.

As a student, Nick has earned a 3.97 GPA while taking all Advanced Placement and Honors-level classes. 

In addition to his stellar career as an athlete and a great academic record, Nick has served on several school clubs and committees: Project Teamwork anti-bullying/antihazing Club, National Society, Medfield Strategic Planning, and the Student Council. Nick also volunteers at the Mills Library Book Fair, the Junior Football Camp, and the Medfield Youth Baseball Program.
