Statewide Tournament Director Positions

WINTER SPORT POSITIONS:

  • The MIAA is seeking candidates for Ice Hockey State Tournament Director. Candidates should send letter of interest and resume to Richard Pearson, Associate Executive Director, at rpearson@miaa.net. Deadline for applications is November 8, 2024.
  • The MIAA is seeking candidates for Indoor Track Tournament Director. Candidates should send letter of interest and resume to Keith Brouillard, Assistant Director, at kbrouillard@miaa.net. Deadline for applications is November 8, 2024.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and Review Regular Season Schedules - confirm accurate and complete schedules
  • Support Tournament Seeding - use and understanding of MIAA Power Rating System
  • Site Selection – in accordance with the Site Determination Policy

Game Administration

  • Scheduling of tournament contents/events (working with participating schools)
  • Communication with member school administrators and MIAA staff liaison
  • Adhere to and apply all TMC Policies and Protocols
  • Online Tickets through GoFan - communication and promotion with participating schools
  • Announcements – Assuring PSA’s and all announcements are planned and utilized
  • Awards/Trophies/Banners – Coordinate, distribute, and display at each host site
  • Forms – complete and collect (if necessary) incident reports, sportsmanship, disqualifications, media agreements
  • Policies – be familiar with Medical Coverage Policy, Heat Policies, etc.

Financial Requirements:

  • Process and manage all payment forms/invoices and personnel payment forms
  • Support and Manage Host Site forms, processes and billings
  • Complete End of Tournament report

Other

  • Tournament Merchandise – make available and accommodate a space for the MIAA authorized Merchandise provider
  • NFHS Network and Media – make available and accommodate appropriate space for set-up and access to the event, if necessary
  • Manage other media needs and requests
