Official Board Presidents & Secretaries

How to Become a Sports Official

The MIAA does not directly train or enlist game officials. The MIAA enrolls game officials based on information local officials’ boards provide to the Association.
The MIAA has a list of all the game officials’ boards in the state for all sports offered at MIAA member high schools. Each officials’ board has a secretary and president and this information, including contact information, is posted in the table to the right.

In order to become an official, you should contact an officials’ board’s secretary or president in both the sport you are interested as well as the section of the state you wish to work. Each official’s board will have a process to enroll and train new officials. You are certainly welcome to contact more than one board and officials can be enrolled with several different boards if desired.

Membership with a recognized official’s board qualifies you to officiate MIAA Tournament Events as well as provides an opportunity to serve as an “Officials Representative” on one of our Sport Committees.
