Leominster High School Student Receives MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month Award November 2023

Juliana Pompeii – Leominster High School

Juliana has excelled in three sports, Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse where she has been named captain of all three. As a student Juliana has consistently challenged herself with high level courses, taking all Honors and AP classes her entire high school career. She has also taken multiple Peer Mentor and/or Leadership courses, always trying to better herself and build relationships with her peers. She is a member of the Class of 2024 Student Government and the school's chapter of the National Honor Society, demonstrating strong leadership skills and character in everything she does. She is currently ranked 17th in the Senior class of 418 students and has a GPA of 3.93 (on a 4 point scale).

As Coach Brow explained, “Jules is a 3-sport athlete at Leominster High School and is the type of player that any coach would love to have on their team. She goes above and beyond, putting 120% effort into everything she does. She has been a 3-year Varsity field hockey player, 4-year Varsity basketball player, and 4-year Varsity lacrosse player. She is also a captain of all 3 teams (1x FH, 1x Lax, and 2x basketball). She is a multisport league all-star (multiple times), most recently named MidWach League All Star for field hockey for the 2023 season. She is a dedicated teammate who goes out of her
way to make all team members feel valued and respected and sets a great example with both her words and her actions, on and off the field.”

Outside of the fields and classes, Juliana is involved in the sports community and incorporates that into community service as well. She is a volunteer basketball coach for St. Anna's School here in Leominster; for the past 3 winters she has spent her Saturday mornings coaching 6–7-year-olds, She has also volunteered with Challenger baseball and basketball leagues, as a neurotypical buddy for the players with varying levels of disabilities. Her kindness, compassion, and patience have had a positive impact on so many around her.
