North Middlesex Regional High School Student Receives MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month Award March 2024

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association is proud to announce the Student of the Month for March is Jackson Bailey of North Middlesex Regional High School. Jackson is a three-sport athlete, competing in cross country, indoor track and field, and baseball. Nominated by his baseball coach Jim Beauregard, Jackson was captain in all three sports, and received the Coaches Award and Team MVP in Cross-Country as well as being named a league all-star in Indoor Track and Field.

As a student, Jackson has maintained a very high GPA while taking a very demanding caseload. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa National Honor Society for Social Studies.

As impressive as Jackson is as a student-athlete, he is also involved in his community raising money for local charities and proposing and advocating for a new course at NMRHS so students have a better understanding of financial literacy.

Most impressive is Jackson’s involvement in NOLA, (New Orleans Louisiana Service Learning). The NOLA Program consists of 38 students whose ages range from sophomores to seniors. As a student coordinator he was responsible for the planning of the trip which included fundraisers, service, flights, and accommodations. The service trip takes place over April vacation and students stay at Camp Restore and take part in activities to assist those less fortunate. Some of those activities included building a concrete wheelchair-accessible ramp, cleaning kitchens, common areas, bathrooms, supply closets, and outdoor areas in the New Orleans area.

As Coach Beauregard said, “ I have been coaching baseball for 30 years and have been an Athletic Director for 20. All during this time I have never encountered a student that has been more worthy of recognition such as this prior to my time with Jackson. He always says 'yes' when it comes to supporting the community. I am sure over the course of his 4 years at North Middlesex he has been involved in far more activities, both school and community, than he probably recalls because he does it for the sheer love of helping others. On many of his 'projects' he serves as team leader, guiding and assisting others with the task at hand. Extremely polite, well spoken, and knowledgeable on many subjects, you can have a conversation with him and come away learning something!"
