Pembroke High School Student Receives MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month Award October 2023

Matt McAuliffe – Pembroke High School

Matt is a stellar soccer player for the Titans. An Honors student with a GPA of 3.82 since his freshmen year, Matt has been a three-year starter and four-year varsity team member for the Boys Soccer Team and was a member of the State Finalist Team this past Fall. In his previous seasons, Matt has been an integral part of the undefeated regular season team in 2022 and has also been a repeat Patriot League All-Star. As a team captain, Matt was a leader both on and off the field at Pembroke High School and valued by his teammates and classmates for always doing things the right way. For example, Matt and his teammates are volunteers at the local food pantry, and he also donates many hours preparing food for the needs of the community.

In the words of his coach, “Matt who was a Patriot League All Star in 2021 is the engine for our team as our holding/defensive midfielder. He may be the strongest overall player I have ever coached and his physicality and strength in midfield makes him a tremendous player for us and an absolute challenge for our opponents to deal with. He is a terrific ball winner and a 4-year varsity player. Matt is also our best on and off-field leader. He is kind, considerate and extremely mature for his age. Additionally, Matt is a Honor Roll student at Pembroke HS and a standout member of Pembroke DECA.”
